Moazzam Shah Bukhari Syed, Moazzam, is an award-winning sustainable development leader, education activist and researcher from Pakistan. Currently, Moazzam is pursuing a doctoral degree from Technological University Dublin, Ireland, with a focus on Internet of Things & Digital Earth Twin for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Implementation Monitoring. He is part of the prestigious Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research Training in Advanced Networks for Sustainable Societies. Apart from academics and research, Moazzam has been affiliated with the social, development, and education sector for almost a decade in Pakistan with a focus on providing value-added services to the marginalized, deprived, and underprivileged communities. Through his organization, The Walkway School, Moazzam has been working on enabling an easy, safe, and affordable access to quality education in rural Pakistan. His organisation has sent nearly 4000 children to schools so far, and has been able to expand the intervention into multiple geographic locations, and helped several communities become resilient and self-sustaining. He is an alumnus of Youth Co:Lab, Asia Pacific’s largest social entrepreneurship movement co led by UNDP and Citi Foundation. He is also a member of UNESCO’s SDG4Youth Network, 2022 Diana Award recipient and 2023 Commonwealth Youth Award for Excellence in Development Work Finalist. He is also a fellow of the prestigious 2023 CEE Program by US Department of State
